Treatments

Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT)

Ultrasound-guided EVLT is a non-invasive procedure performed under local anesthetic that safely treats varicose veins using a diode laser fiber to occlude the vein.

Endovenous Radio-frequency Ablation (RF) CLOSURE

RF is a non-invasive procedure performed under local anesthetic using direct controlled delivery of energy to a vein wall by a small RF probe. This causes the vein to close and become sealed off.

Micro Ambulatory Phlebectomy (MAPS)

A procedure that involves making a small incision to gain access to a varicose vein, which is gently extracted.  The incision does not require sutures and rarely forms a visible scar.

Vein Stripping and Ligation

Stripping has been the traditional treatment for bad valves in the largest surface veins for nearly 100 years. Typically, the great saphenous vein above the knee is stripped (removed), usually through a small incision, using an atraumatic technique (inversion stripping). Usually only small incisions are required. Stripping is frequently done in conjunction with ambulatory phlebectomy. The entire surgery is safely performed under general, epidural, or local anesthesia and can be performed in an outpatient setting or hospital.

Foam Sclerotherapy

This procedure involves using a sclerosing agent that is aerated to make a foam solution.   The foam is injected into the damaged vein, causing the lining to swell and eventually seal off the blood vessel, preventing blood flow.  Each vein may require more than one injection.

Aesthetic Sclerotherapy

Spider veins and small varicose veins can be treated with Sclerotherapy.  A tiny needle injects a special chemical medication to seal off damaged veins, thereby detouring blood to healthy veins nearby.  Each vein may require more than one injection.

Surface Laser

The Dornier Diode Laser targets veins damaging the vessel, causing it to close off with no risk of staining to the skin. May require 2-3 sessions per leg depending on severity and results desired.  This is an effective treatment for facial telangiectasia and hemagioma.

Compression Hose

A medical grade compression hose, prescribed at 20-30mmHg, provides relief from many of the symptoms of varicose veins by preventing blood from pooling in the leg veins.  Compression is essential in the long-term effectiveness of all vein treatments.  Patients are precisely fitted so comfort and compression are maximized.
