A biopsy is a gentle way of collecting a tiny piece of tissue to find out if it's harmless, cancerous, or caused by an infection. With an image-guided biopsy, we use advanced imaging technology to guide us in placing needles precisely in tricky spots inside the body, like the breast, lungs, kidneys, liver, lymph nodes, and bones. It's a safe method that helps us get the most accurate results for your diagnosis.

We rely on imaging tools like fluoroscopy, CT scans, or ultrasound to carefully guide the needle to the exact spot we need. Typically, an image-guided biopsy takes around 45 minutes to an hour, starting from when you settle onto the table until we finish the procedure. It's a process designed to be as efficient and comfortable for you as possible.
